I was six years old. I remember hearing this song and being quite taken by the beat, which I think would be quite modern for its time. My favorite S&G song.

Junior High and my classmate was Ceci lia Mcquay. Whenever she was around, I would sing Cecilia your breaking my heart. She looked pretty embarrassed. I guess 14 year old me didn’t have a deep understanding of the lyrics..... Oh well, 45 th HS reunion in two weeks. Time flies.

Are you going? If I knew for certain there was a reunion of my graduating high school class on a certain night, I would buy a ticket for a scenic boat ride that evening so that I could be entirely not even on the continent when the gathering took place. Worst years of my life.

Sure. my 3 best friends from those years are going. It was a big high school so there are a fairly large bunch of people to see.

T he 30th was the best. Everybody at peak of careers, kids are high achievers, life is good.

4oth was depressing. Everybody was downsized , or was talking about their recent operation or health issue , or declining parents, or kids that just moved in with them......

Now it is the 45th....

Although my prior ‘93 civic Si I drove to my 20, 25th, and 30th reunions. Maybe I am making progress.

When you read about Cecilia on Wikipedia, you learn or rather I learned, that the genus of the song was just a little bit of goofing around and jamming at a party.

It's my favorite song of theirs. I think it might be their best.
